Fuad Mimi

Fuad Mimi is first and foremost a colourist. Over the years, he has
drawn his inspiration from the natural landscape and architecture of
Jordan, utilizing a rich palette and bold impressionistic brushstrokes.
As one critic put it so well, Fuad Mimis intrinsic skill as a pure
colourist never fails to innovate. He is capable of identifying the
format that best expresses his thoughts, always seeking to give the
language of art, in terms of form, colour and space, an independent
personal presence.

Fuad Mimi obtained an advanced Fine Art
degree from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University
of the Arts, London. He has participated in numerous solo and group
exhibitions in Jordan and abroad and his artwork forms part of the
collection of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, as well as
private collections in France, Italy and the UK, the U.S.A. and Canada,
and several Arab countries.
In addition to being widely
recognized as one of the most established artists in Jordan, Fuad Mimi
is an award-winning television producer and director. His training
includes extensive courses in television production and direction at
the BBC in London, as well as in Europe and the USA. During the last
fifteen years, he has directed television documentaries promoting
tourism and social development in Jordan. He was awarded the First
Golden Crown Prize for Film and Television at the Casablanca Festival,
Morocco, for his documentary "Arabic Calligraphy."
